This little trick is something we have been doing for a while now and wanted to share it with you too!
SPOILER : these two framed art pieces cost us less than $30!
What You Will Need :
01 // Vintage Postcards
02 // Custom Mat from your local craft store- we ordered ours at Michaels / typically they can cut them and have them ready within a couple of hours
03 // Vintage or Modern Frames
We found these postcards at an antique store for $2/each- they are 3.5×5.5″ so we had custom mats made to fit them. The mats cost us $10/each and we scored the vintage frames from another antique store for $2/each! Which brings this entire project coming in at less than $30! You really can’t beat it!
We have used these to bring artwork in to bathrooms, open shelves, mantles, and now our sunroom.
Shopping Tip :
Your local antique stores will usually have boxes of vintage postcards ranging anywhere from $.50-$5/each. If you don’t have time to go antiquing at your local shops, ETSY has some really great postcards you can order online!
Photography Tip :
Have you ever wondered how some interior shots of artwork have no glare? Well, they remove the glass- just like we did in this post. By removing the glass, you are able to photograph the framed artwork without any glare, reflections, or distractions.
