In August, I start to transition our home from the summer season to fall… the easiest way to transition your home is by bringing in deeper tones, textures and layers. One way to do this is with a pillowscape formula which I am sharing below…

My Pillowscape Formula
Start by choosing a color pallet that compliments your space and makes you happy. Focus on various patterns, mixing large scale and small, geometric and floral, and be sure to add 1 or 2 solids to create balance.
- 5 Pillows Total
- Various Patters – geometric and florals, mixing large scale and small
- Solid Pillows – to help balance the patterns
- Layer 3 Pillows on one side and 2 on the other
- Use Various Sizes – 24×24, 20×20, 18×18, &/or a lumbar
Don’t worry about making the pillows look too perfect, we want the sofa to be comfortable and feel lived in.
Our Pillowscape
Be sure to add an extra layer with a cozy knit throw.
Finish the space with fall branches, a seasonal candle and enjoy the warm fall aesthetic for the cooler seasons ahead.
I love these turning green Oak branches… here in Florida, the fall foliage doesn’t come for another couple of months so having a realistic option like these Oak branches really help to create the look we want.
This Pumpkin Bread candle is hands down my favorite right now for fall! I love that it gives off that cozy pumpkin scent without the heavy spice scent. You can shop our favorite fall candles here and use code LAINEANDLAYNE20 for 20% off!
I hope this post helps you feel more confident in choosing your fall pillowscape this season! Happy fall, friends!
