It’s been a whirlwind of a few weeks… last week we moved our family out of our first home where we have lived the last 12 years and into my parents’ home. We didn’t hire movers – it was just us and my parents… loading car full after car full and trailer after trailer. I had never felt more emotionally and physically drained as I did last week, I even made the comment it would be a miracle if one of us doesn’t get sick and Justin came down with something a few days ago. Last Thursday, after signing, we stopped by the house one last time with the kids to take some photos on the front porch and say our final goodbyes- it was emotional as we walked out of the driveway for the last time. We met the new owners on our way out, a family of three… the same as when we moved into this home. It has been a bittersweet transition.
I will talk more about our current living situation and do a proper tour as soon as we are settled, but today I wanted to share the tribute I wrote to our first home along with some of our favorite photos captured here over the years. Thank you for being so good to us. For providing safety and shelter for our family— during physical and emotional storms. For being a safe-haven and a place of rest. Thank you for warm meals cooked, baked, and enjoyed together. Thank you for your comfort during sickness and hard times. Thank you for allowing us to express our creativity and to grow a passionate business here. Thank you for teaching us new crafts and skills. Thank you for teaching us patience and humbling us on challenging days. Thank you for being the place we grew our family— we moved in as a family of 3 and left as a family of 5. Thank you for allowing us to share you with so many. Thank you for 12 years.
