And just like that, summer collapsed into fall… Oscar Wilde said that and how true it feels this time of year. The days are getting shorter and cooler weather is right around the corner for us down here in Florida. I spent some time putting our fall front porch together- I am still so thankful for the fresh grass and brick sidewalk we have this year in contrast to last year.
I love this half moon door mat– it is the same as our rectangle one from last year, but just a little bit smaller which was intentional to allow more room for the woven pumpkins.
I planted four different varieties in the woven planters (pictured left) Brazilian Joyweed, Coleus, Blanketflower and Cabbage. In the wooden planters that Justin made we planted Japanese Privet and English Ivy.
I styled the woven pumpkins along with a few heirloom pumpkin varieties and I love the color they added to the porch.
I was undecided about whether or not to add a wreath and truthfully, I am still on the fence about this one I made out of two difference faux branches, but it is still up for now 🙂
We planted the Japenese Privets in the square planters as a place holder, but I would love to find a good faux Boxwood option like in the below photo to use here. Unfortunately, Boxwoods do not do well on our front porch since it is North facing and does not get direct sun and so if you know of a good faux Boxwood option, let me know!
