Back Entryway Reveal

November 25, 2020

It’s another REVEAL day and to be honest, as small as this project was, it is one of my favorite transformations! If you are new here, this cased opening use to be our original back door before we converted our porch to a sunroom. I am sharing two before photos at the bottom of this post!

Get the Look

This is a small area and we knew we wanted to add character to the walls by adding beadboard, a picture ledge chair rail and pegs for functionality. Since this is a smaller area and we had that tiny angled wall to work with, we decided to use beadboard wainscot panels instead of sheets since they are easier to work with and cut.

Remember our kitchen wall that we recently added this same treatment to? The easiest and most cost-effective way to add character and dress up a space is to add millwork to a wall(s). Well, depending on the millwork, it may not be the most cost-effective way, but installing beadboard is definitely a budget-friendly option that we love!

Styling this area has been so fun, especially now for the holidays! We added fresh cut Cedar garland from Home Depot around the cased opening and on top of the mirror (remember to soak your greens overnight before hanging and give them a good spray every day).

We included a bowl full of Buckeyes from our Buckeye tree that boys love to collect and drop in on their way inside, this fun eco-friendly indoor/outdoor patterned rug that holds traffic and wears really well, and a few decorative touches like the terra cotta votives, brass bells, and vintage artwork.

Spoiler : this holiday season, we are decorating with blush tones, pale blue/greys, caramels, and ivory/whites and I wanted to be sure to incorporate that into this space too.

Materials We Used :

We shared the entire process on Instagram and saved it to a highlight on our profile- you can click here to watch.

BEFORE :

Here are two before photos : the first one is before we converted our porch to a sunroom, and the second is right after we converted our porch.

After :

We hope this simple project inspires you to transform a space in your home!

Happy Thanksgiving, friends! We hope you all are enjoying this special time with your loved ones!
