Our Bedroom Rug and Vintage Inspired Sconces

Design — November 19, 2020

We haven’t shared much of our bedroom since we rearranged and moved our bed to this wall… remember when our bedroom use to look like this?! It is crazy to us how different the room looks now and how much better everything flows since we decided to move things around… again.

Get the Look

One main reason we decided to rearrange was so our room would fit a mini crib for our newest babe coming in just two short weeks! But, also because I was craving balance and envisioned our bed with matching sconces and artwork.

One of our favorite new additions are these beautiful handmade plug-in sconces by Lightwork Design Co. They have a beautiful vintage glass shade on them and add so much character in our bedroom.

Remember the rug that use to be in here? We moved it into the living room a couple of months ago and have really been enjoying it in there but have been rugless in our bedroom every since, so we were so excited to finally add a rug back into this space!

We added this Loloi Rug from the Chris Loves Julia collaboration, and love how it pairs perfectly with our sconces and other accents. We chose the Sage/Blush rug from the Rosemarie collection to bring in a little bit of contrast and subtle warmth- it has sage, blush, ivory, grey, and gold tones.

Our first bit of winter decor officially made it into our bedroom too and I couldn’t be happier with how this DIY wreath turned out!

I used this grapevine wreath and incorporated fresh Juniper from our trees and dried Eucalyptus and attached them to this wreath with floral wire, hot glued some pine cones and finished it with handmade silk ribbon. I also had some leftover leather in my craft scraps and decided to use that to hang the wreath. I have had a lot of requests for a tutorial so I am hoping to share a how-to next week!

One of our favorite details on these sconces are the brass cord grips that screw into the wall and help to hold your wire in place.

Last change I made was adding an oversized grey lumbar to the bed for added contrast and to tie in the grey tones in the rug- really loving it during this season.

Next updates in this room include adding a dresser in here which was just delivered today! We haven’t had a dresser in here in almost 6 months since we moved ours into our boy’s room for them to share. Definitely excited to have a dresser back in here! Stay tuned for another post coming soon of our completed bedroom all ready for baby!

Do you have a rug vacuum to recommend? We use an attachment on our Miele canister…which I think is okay, but I’m still always a bit nervous about damage. Love Loloi, and this one looks beautiful in your room!
