Pillows

There’s so much to love about being home for the holidays… or just being home in general. I love how cozy our home feels during the holiday season and all of the extra layers and textures.

One layer we added was this beautiful 10×14 vintage-inspired rug… I love the colorway and distressing of this rug… we have had a few other colors from this collection and I think this is the best one yet! Such an easy rug to clean, too!

This year I wanted our home to feel a bit more classic with a nod to the traditional holiday colors with deep reds and greens.

When styling our living room, I wanted things to feel cozy and lived-in with a plate of homemade cookies on the coffee table, a stack of presents and open books.

I love our Christmas Tree this year… we added warm twinkling lights and it really makes the entire room feel magical.

Choosing our wrapping paper was so fun- I chose the classic matte deep red and ivory papers and paired those with a gingerbread, peppermint, ice-skating, and other traditional papers.

I love this neutral pillow trio (vintage-inspired, velvet, and ruffle gingham) that has patterns and interest but doesn’t compete with the beautiful deep red heavy knit throw… that I am curled up with as I write this post 🙂

See how pretty the tones are in this rug??!

I used this faux cedar garland (2), and mixed in some fresh pine clippings for our mantel this year.

I used the same linen stockings we have had for a couple of years now and dressed them up with brass bells and velvet ribbon bows.

Ps- we only use natural fat wood to start our fires… we keep them in a vintage dough bowl on our hearth.

On our coffee table I love to use pinecones, buckeyes, chestnuts, or acorns and fresh cut cedar branches from our yard. The texture and tones of nature can’t be beat. I used a classic heirloom bowl and a vintage vase both together in a large handwoven tray.

I hope you enjoyed our Holiday Living Room tour today and are savoring this special week leading up to Christmas Day! Tomorrow, I will be sharing some Thoughtful Handmade Gift Ideas along with some recipes to hopefully inspire you to give an intentional handmade gift.
