I remember after Justin and I got married, almost ten years ago, we invested in a Pottery Barn linen quilt and shams… and guess what? We still use that same quilt and shams ten years later. Today, we are so excited to formally announce our partnership with Pottery Barn… as Brand Ambassadors, we have curated a collection of over 40 personal favorites for you to shop. We trust Pottery Barn’s quality, and love their timeless pieces that serve as foundational elements in our designs and always seamlessly blend with our neutral aesthetic and vintage decor.

Get The Look
One summer trend we are highlighting today is all about tonal neutrals… but honestly, if you know us, this is more of a year round branding trait than a trend. Nonetheless, we love that Pottery Barn is highlighting this trend and knew it was the perfect opportunity to share why we love tonal neutrals…
If you have followed us for any amount of time, you know that our neutral aesthetic is something we have built our brand around. We love using tone on tone in our designs and using neutrals as foundational elements- here we used linen sheets, a linen duvet cover, speckled vase, and a chunky knit throw.
There’s often a misconception that only designing with neutrals is boring. Here are a few simple design elements we keep in mind when designing a neutral space to ensure it is never boring…
Use 2-3 varying tones– a light tone like ivory or white, a medium neutral tone like flax or oatmeal, and a deep tone like a gray or faded variant of a color. By incorporating varying tones, you are adding in subtle contrast into your design that all blend seamlessly together.
Mix patterns… we incorporated a neutral floral and stripe in the pillows and also used a striped duvet cover which adds interest and character.
Greenery is one of those things that I personally believe should be in every space. Whether it’s olive branches, foraged branches from outdoors, florals from a local market, or a fiddle fig tree, greenery just adds so much life to a space! Here we used olive branches in a neutral speckled vase.
Artwork– art can bring so much to a space… color, character, texture. Art brings a feeling that can really bring a whole space together. Speaking of art, we have an exciting announcement coming next week that we cannot wait to share!! In the meantime, a quick tip for choosing art is to choose pieces that resonate with you or bring about a certain feeling. Here, we chose this backroads art piece that reminds us of home.
Vintage– we always incorporate vintage or found objects and furniture into our designs like this little handmade vintage vase and vintage inspired sconces that add so much interest and character.
Layering– layer a quilt, duvet, and a textured knit throw for a cozy look.
