Banana Bread Cake

Inspired by my Banana Bread recipe– I wanted to create a quicker dessert that doesn’t take one hour to make! This has become a favorite in our family and I hope you and your family will enjoy it too!

Banana Bread Cake

A twist on a classic banana loaf- a moist and sweet cake your entire family will love!

Ingredients
  

  • 3 Ripe Bananas
  • 1/2 c Unsalted Melted Butter 1 stick
  • 1/2 c Sugar
  • 1/2 c Dark Brown Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 c Sour Cream
  • 1 3/4 c All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 c Crushed Walnuts or Pecans + 1 tbsp Brown Sugar for topping

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350º
  • Melt Butter and cream together sugars and butter until light and fluffy
  • Add in smashed bananas, 2 eggs, vanilla extract and sour cream. Whisk to combine
  • In a separate bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon
  • Pour dry ingredients into wet, stir with a wooden spoon until just combined- Do not over mix
  • Prepare a 9×9 square pan and pour in batter
  • Sprinkle the top with crushed nuts and brown sugar
  • Bake for 30-33 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean
  • Let cool 10 minutes before slicing
  • Top with butter and enjoy!
