Today’s post is a fun one! If you read this post from last week, you know one of the intentions we set for this year was to remain true to our neutral and natural design aesthetic, and today we partnered with AllModern to curate a living room design that we love! We highlighted some of their Mid-Century Modern pieces- so we are calling this design, Neutral & Natural MCM- We chose each piece with our design aesthetic in mind and if we were to do a living room refresh this year, THIS design would be it!
We immediately chose this sofa, when we saw it, as the first layer in the design- we were drawn to the clean modern design with a relaxed and casual feel of the slipcover.
We love to mix metals in design to create a timeless yet modern feel- the brass planter and mirror, the black side table and console table, and the galvanized metal wall planters all blend so well together.
Speaking of planters, bringing in greenery to a room can bring so much life into the space! Our favorite indoor plants are Fiddle Leaf Fig Trees, Pothos, & Rubber Trees, all seen in the design board above.
We chose these accent chairs to bring in a natural wood tone to add warmth to balance out the metals and we love how the texture in the rattan seamlessly blends with the texture in the rug.
We added this neutral Loloi rug with a lot texture to bring everything together. (spoiler, this is actually the rug we will be using in our Master Bedroom soon)
We like to finish a design by adding a couple of timeless accessories like this neutral lamp that adds contrast on top of the side table, and this organic glass vase that would be perfect on a coffee table sitting alone or holding fresh branches.

Coffee Table Update
You will notice we didn’t include a coffee table in our original design board above and after we received a lot of messages asking why, we wanted to post an update and explain our reason- in our designs, we love to incorporate vintage or found items to add character to a space and to tell a unique story. In modern designs like this one, we would use a vintage/found coffee table to balance the modern pieces in the room. Below is an updated design board with the kind of coffee table we would use (similar to our own coffee table in our living room now).
The coffee table we included in the design is called a Shanxi Coffee Table. You can look here, here, and here, for a lot of similar options!

We love curating spaces that reflect our design aesthetic, and this space does just that! Would you be interested in seeing more curated room designs? Thinking about releasing one of these designs per month to serve as inspiration to help any of you looking to refresh a new area in your home!
Where can I find this rug?
It is a Loloi Rug and linked in this post! Here is the direct link.
