Summer Front Porch Part I

June 5, 2023

Today, we are sharing part one of our summer front porch! It has been two years since we remodeled our front porch, which seems crazy that it has only been two years… in case you missed any of the reveals, you can get caught up here and here!

Just for fun, here is what our front porch use to look like…

And now… we recently added outdoor sun shades to our front porch to provide some shade during our late afternoon/evenings. Our home faces west, so our front porch has always been really bright and hot during the summer months making this sitting area not very enjoyable… but after installing these shades, we now have privacy, shade and a cozy spot to enjoy any time of day!

Here is what this space looks like with the shades all the way down…

and a look from the outside…

The shades are on a crank system and are extremely easy to raise and lower. We even keep them lowered at night to help minimize the amount of bugs on our furniture, and we keep them lowered during rainstorms which helps keep our furniture and rug from getting wet. Overall, they have been such a great addition to this space and we can’t recommend them enough!

We recently added these hooks to the front porch to help fill this space and I love the added storage here to hold our watering can and garden hat!

How perfect are these outdoor pillows for summer? I love the texture and warmth they provide to this sitting area!

I picked these tomatoes from the garden just before we photographed this space and I snacked on them while we shot… sometimes, when styling, I like to create specific moments that feel lived in and natural- I hope you can feel that.

I love these outdoor hammered goblets for summertime! I added some chamomile flowers from the garden to the water to make the drinks feel special- such a simple way to elevate any drink!

I love this simple modern brass watering can which surprising holds a good amount of water for me to water the front porch plants!

Part II of our front porch which includes our front door and potted plants is coming to the blog this week!
